Visual Artists Wanted for Pride Exhibition
Who Are We?
Dark Yellow Dot, is an artist-run platform for sharing, connecting, learning and growing as an artist. By curating and organising exhibitions, workshops and other events, we’re supporting and making space for new artists and creative beginners. We’re proud to have featured many artists in their first ever exhibitions and online publications. Read more about us here.
We currently manage two public-facing gallery spaces in East London which allow artists to share their work with a wide audience. The Genesis Cinema Gallery in Mile End and the 1B Window Gallery in Walthamstow.Read more about them here.
About the Exhibition:
This exhibition seeks to highlight the experiences, stories, and creativity of LGBTQ+ individuals through a diverse range of wall-mountable artwork. We welcome submissions in various mediums, including but not limited to painting, print, photography, illustration, textiles, and collage. While we encourage artwork that reflects personal experiences within the LGBTQ+ community, it is not a requirement for submission. Our goal is to create a vibrant and inclusive showcase that honours the spirit of Pride.
A word from our artists:
“Exhibiting with Dark Yellow Dot as an emerging artist was brilliant. They took the time to get to understand the artists in the Women’s Month Exhibition and showed so much faith in my work it was truly encouraging. The team were a dream, super supportive, responsive, and professional. How they are creating the landscape for emerging artists to blossom is truly fantastic.” – Natalie Thrasivoulou
