FRANCILLA SEATON
I am a fine artist working in various mediums such as acrylic and oil paint, photography and print making. I started my art practice whilst studying fine art at University. I began to look at black history and science as a investigation of our heritage asking Who are we? Where do we come from? And Where are we going? My works are my creative answer to those questions.
JOKE AMUSAN
Joke Valerie Amusan’s practice addresses the portrayal of black women in the media and focuses on their empowerment. She challenges the stigma. Employing materials such as, and not limited to, hessian and wool, Amusan explores the power of words and objects, and enters into a conversation with the viewer. The objects become sculptural pieces which are strategically placed to initiate questions, stories, conversations. The work demands not only to be seen and heard but felt.
PAULINE CUSHNIE
My work is multimedia with a current focus, on painting and creating images based around People and Places. The Lockdown Portraits included my participation, in all three Lockdown “Sky Portrait of The Week” series.
NIGEL KORLEY-SIMON
I was a traditional painter and I transitioned into digital painting I studied art at Canterbury Christ Church and Croydon College. Lately, my art has been about my rebound from mediocrity, doing things I never thought I would and expressing that through portraits of people I met along the way.
