What’s the opportunity?

We want to hear from vibrant solo artists and or artist groups who create work that push boundaries, are expressive, attention grabbing and dynamic. We’re looking for  passionate visual artists looking for an opportunity to showcase your creative talents in the vibrant and diverse city of London We invite local and nearby artists to participate in our exciting exhibitions set to take place in 2024. With two stunning gallery spaces and 14 exhibitions and events in the works, this is your chance to make your mark in East London’s art scene.

Dark Yellow Dot is an award winning platform dedicated to celebrating local artists and creatives. We have a rich history of supporting emerging and established artists in their creative journeys and pursuits. Our commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive artistic community has made us a hub for artists from all walks of life.

Our Galleries

You’ll be able to choose whether you’d like to apply for our Genesis Gallery (best for 2D Artists, printmakers, painters, illustrators, photographers etc) or you can apply to our 1B Window Gallery (best for 3D Artists, installations, textiles, sculptors, set designs etc)

Eligibility Criteria:

• Artists should be local to or near London, making it convenient to transport their own work to our galleries.
• Artists must be at least 18 years old.
• All visual art mediums are welcome. Whether you’re a painter, sculptor, photographer, digital artist, installation artist, or work with any other form of visual art, we want to see your stuff!
• We strongly encourage artists from all backgrounds, especially those who are considering exhibiting their work for the first time, to apply. We value diversity and the exploration of new perspectives.
  
• We will be considering the artwork that is submitted in your application for exhibitions, so refrain from submitting work that is unavailable to exhibit
• For the 1B Window Gallery, we will be accepting proposals. Be sure that the ambitions of proposals can match the expected outcomes.

We are committed to providing an inclusive and respectful platform for artists and art enthusiasts alike. Therefore, we cannot accept applications that contain profanity or explicit nudity.

You’ll be able to upload up to 4 images of artwork, or a proposal, and tell us about yourself and your art

On the application form, you’ll be able to choose whether you’d like to apply for our Genesis Gallery (best for 2D Artists, printmakers, painters, illustrators, photographers etc) or you can apply to our 1B Window Gallery (best for 3D Artists, installations, textiles, sculptors, set designs etc)

Earlybird Application (£5): Get on our radar as we continuously look for new talent to plan our exhibitions with for 2024/25.

This fee helps us create free and low-cost exhibitions, ensuring that we can continue to support local artists and offer opportunities for artistic expression in our community.
